At last this non profit making event has be honoured, the idear only three years old, was brought about by a conversation between myself(Nuttyboy Jackon) and Paul Willo.

Originally I wanted to hold a Ska Festival 'The Big One' at Parkdeans Sandford Park in Dorset, bringing all the big names to a weekend of Ska.

Paul Willo at the same time was raising money for the 'Teenage Cancer Trust' with small events around the UK.  I heard of Pauls venture.  So I contacted Paul and discussed holding a weekend event at Sandford.

The rest as they say is History, Paul has good contacts in the Ska world and the event quickly took off with members from the Specials, Madness, Joining the ranks in coming to play with bands from all over the UK.  The Beat headlined last years event, Lee Thompson Orchestra, The Specialized Band which consisted of many of the Specials band members Horace Panter, Lynval Golding, Roddy Byers plus the Brass section, front man was the legendary 'Winstone Reedy' of the 'Cimerons'  Dennis Bovel from Matumbi has attended all 3 events performing his music of Dub & Lovers Rock .

Bands from Scotland, Big Fat Panda to mention one have attended all 3 events.  Altogether approx 60 bands from all over UK have in the last 3 years have graced the stage at Parkdean, Sandford Park.

This little dream has became world famous 'SPAHNE' from Switzerland brought their music to the stage along with Dennis Bovell.

Susan Cadogan appeard last year singing her hit 'Hurt So Good' along with King Hammond.

The event is massive, all credit to the success of this Project must go to 'Paul Willo' and his behind the scene's crew.

I am proud to be associated with this event

Dennis will be touring and performing throughout the Uk and will be on tour in Gambia in the new year.  I spent alot of time with Dennis during the Specialized weekend where he was MC.

Dennis never missed any of the band all weekend, he was an inspiration to me and i realized that Reggae and Ska music still has a big part to play in the music industry.

X Factor and the Voice are manufactured and i have a low opinion of the shows.  My point being during the weekend i saw many bands.  One in particular from Leicester called 'by the Rivers', a young energetic band, who closed the event on sunday evening which caught Dennis's attention.  Average age of the band was 17years.

Reggae and Ska will be around for ever, yes we had 'Madness' 'The Specials'.  No disrespect to them, but bands like Bad Manners, The Beat and my queen of Ska Pauline Black kept going refused to quit.  Many of the bandsat specialized, who are also responsible for the return of Madness, The Specials.  Keep believing in yourselves, keep playing the music.

Reggae and Ska will never be forgotten.
I had the pleasure of also meeting Winstone Reedy, who I asked to play at the Specialized gig, he came off tour from France.  Winstone performed with The Specials - lized band on the friday, i made Winstone a promise, i would see him off next morning at 0830am where he would set off back to London to catch his flight to France.
